how to take out the trash in korea
Introducing how to take out trash at Acopia House :)
In Korea, you have to put it in a designated trash bag and take out the trash at a fixed place, day of the week and time zone.
If you don't follow it, you may be fined, so be careful!
Trash bag
『LEFT』General trash bag (White with text) : 일반쓰레기 봉투
・ Use this trash bag for the main garbage (excluding food waste and recycled garbage)
・ Designated garbage bag for each ward
⇒ Size development: 5ℓ, 10ℓ, 20ℓ, 30ℓ, 50ℓ, 75ℓ, 100ℓ
『CENTER』For recycled trash (White one)
・Recycled garbage (PET bottles, cans, bottles, plastic, cardboard, etc.)
・ There is no fixed bag, a transparent garbage bag other than black that allows you to see the contents.
・ It is okay to throw away the cardboard as it is without putting it in the bag.
『RIGHT』Food waste trash bag (Yellow one) : 음식물쓰레기 봉투
・ For garbage only
・ Designated garbage bag for each ward
⇒ Size development: 1ℓ, 2ℓ, 3ℓ, 5ℓ
The date & place to take out the trash
MAPO : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 19:00~24:00
*Except public holiday
Please dispose of it in the garbage dump on the 1st floor of the house building on the above date and time.
When throwing away the swill, put it in the designated yellow bag in the trash can with the green lid on the right of the photo and throw it away.
How to buy the trash bag
Since it is a designated garbage bag for each ward, please purchase it at a convenience store or supermarket in Mapo-gu.
* Since it is often stored under the cash register, if you cannot find it, you must check it directly at the cash register. Some stores do not handle garbage bags.

일반 쓰레기 봉투 20 리터 짜리 주세요. Please give me a general garbage bag of 20ℓ.
음식물 쓰레 기봉 투 3 리터 짜리 주세요. Please give me a garbage bag of 3ℓfor food waste.
You can find them at the supermarket near the house (하모니 마트).

You can collect unnecessary clothes, shoes, and futons by putting them in this blue trash can in the alleys of the city!
