Laerke Andersen

Internship period : December 9th 2021 to February 8th 2022

Hello, I’m Laerke Andersen from Denmark and I’ve been an intern at Asia Hope Camp Organization for the past 2 months. My internship has now come to an end, and it has been an insightful experience working in another cultural environment.

I’ve been to Korea once before on a vacation which was when I realized I wanted to work here and experience a daily life. I’ve been in Korea for around 3 months, and I’ve learned many things that I’m grateful for.

Becoming an intern at ACOPIA has been quite pleasant and I’ve gotten the opportunity to work with a variety of tasks. I’ve been writing articles, shoot and edit videos for YouTube, and promoting the different programs ACOPIA offers on social media.

There was a wide range of newspaper topics, in which I mainly chose to write about K-Media and the K-POP industry as I found it very interesting. I enjoyed being able to choose some of the tasks myself. Also, the videos I’ve been shooting has been a fun experience, as I got to go places of my own choice. For example, I documented my journey to the top of the N Seoul Tower and The National Museum of Korea.

This was a great way to explore the Korean culture and boost my skills at the same time. Overall, I was hoping to participate in more activities but due to Covid-19 and the regulations in Korea, I didn’t get to experience much of that.

Being an intern at ACOPIA and experiencing a daily life in Korea has been a memorable journey and I definitely plan to visit Korea again sometime. I’m already looking forward to discovering even more about this country and make a lot of good memories.
