I've always thought that paintings on glass were unusual and appealing to the eye, consequently that's where this concept came from.

The temple was based on a photograph I took in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Temples are significant to me because they provide me with serenity and keep me grounded. Religion is an important part of my life, and I wanted to include it in my piece.

It is painted on glass to demonstrate our transparency while we are in a temple in front of God. We are our realist selves, and that is what this piece has captured.
