ACOPIA TRAINEES show the makings of K-POP GIRL GROUP STARS during LIVE CAFE

Since the beginning of time, Korean girl group productions have shown that they are more than just bubblegum pop and dancing in heels. From sexy concepts, “girl crush” concepts, cute concepts and concepts that break all rules and regulations, girl groups have always written their names in star-studded lights.

Even at ACOPIA, many trainees and interns wear their love for K-POP girl groups on their sleeves. We’re talking TWICE, Blackpink, LOONA, EXID, Girls Generation, 2NE1 and enough names to make a personal essay about how much love goes around for their fellow girls. So when ACOPIA announced an all girl group themed LIVE CAFE, everyone was keen to get onboard.

The night kicked off with ACOPIA’s rising star, Yuuka, singing the ‘ACOPIA Song’. Next, the participants joined in a game of ‘Random Dance Play’, a game that is sweeping social media as the next K-POP challenge trend. In this game, a snippet of a song plays, and the participants who know the dance will dance it as much as they can, earning them one point. As it was a girl group edition, the guests ran on stage to perform a mix of Chungha’s ‘GOTTA GO’, Hyuna’s ‘Red’, IZ*ONE’s ‘Rumor’ and KARA’s ‘Mister’.

Next in line was Sophie with a rendition of Blackpink’s ‘KILL THIS LOVE’, which was taught last week at ACOPIA’s ‘K-Dance Corner’. Followed was Ibuki with ‘I Love You’, and Yuuka with ‘Swalla’, a rendition of Lisa Manoban’s notorious choreography.
